Congratulations to our Downingtown East Masterworks Choir for receiving an invitation to perform at the 2022 PMEA Annual Conference this April at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in the Poconos. They were selected for this honor by blind recorded audition from a statewide pool of applicants.
You may recall that the same choir was chosen to perform back in 2020 but the conference was cancelled that year due to the pandemic. This year’s choir members returned to live singing after a year of virtual choir instruction, then had to learn and record two very difficult contrasting pieces to demonstrate their ensemble skills (with masks and distancing as new challenges) at the beginning of this school year to make this happen. The students demonstrated great determination and resiliency in spite of the difficult circumstances.
