I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you, as the incoming MPA President. First, I would like to thank the following outgoing MPA Board members for their recent service. The time and effort each of them has put in to the organization is much appreciated.
Frank Chindemi
Sue Chindemi
Theresa Foltz
Shawna Powel
Katherine Archibald
As the outgoing President, Frank did want me to send along a few remarks as part of this message.
“As our youngest daughter graduates from high school and moves on, so too must I. I just wanted to share with you what an honor and a pleasure it has been serving as your Music Parents Association President for the past two years. Together with the MPA Board and Directors, we have worked hard to provide opportunities that help support our music programs, our directors, and our students. We could not have done this without the help and support of so many parents. Please continue to be involved with the MPA in any way you can. With the uncertainty of the year to come, this will be more important than ever. I wish you all well.” – Frank Chindemi, MPA President, 2018-20
We all know that this will not be an ordinary year for the MPA. There is still quite a lot of uncertainty in our current environment. We do not know what school will be like when the 2020-21 year starts. Will there be football games? If so, will we have spectators and can we serve them food? Will the Tournament of Roses parade still go on as planned? These are all questions that we do not yet know the answers to today. However, I can commit to all of you that the MPA will work hard to have contingency plans in place and we will be transparent with all of you. As we are all parents of music kids, we will always put the safety of your children first and will make decisions with that in mind.
I look forward to meeting you as we approach the new school year, either virtually or hopefully, in person.
