The Music Parents Association is proud and excited to announce that we applied for and received a $30k grant from The Chester County Nonprofit Innovation & Resiliency Fund, as administered by the Chester County Community Foundation. Per the CARES Act, grants must cover unforeseen financial needs and risks created by the COVID-19 public health emergency. This includes grants to implement and publicize the safe resumption of programs and services. Specific to this grant, we showed an intended use of innovative technology to support virtual, mobile and/or pop-up programs and services. The grant funds will be used to purchase (5) high-end Mac computers for our High School music programs. We will be able to give our students the best possible opportunities to replicate their performance experiences in a virtual medium. Students will also be able to learn new technology skills as they help teachers compile and edit the virtual performances. Although our bands, orchestras and choirs cannot perform in person this year, they will still be able to support our communities with some virtual performances, thanks in large part to this grant funding.
