When I see what is going on in this world, I wonder what my Steve would think. He would say we need to start in our own community in order for this country to heal. So do not wait until the November election for change, start now! Talk to your kids, be there for your neighbors, the children in your community need role models! Donate to Goodwill, your local food pantry, put books in free library boxes. Have an old instrument you no longer play? Donate that to your local music program!
Last year I was asked where friends and family could donate in Steve’s memory. I was too overcome with loss to respond until now. Steve was proud of his children and enjoyed volunteering at Whippet Football home games in the concessions stand. He was known as “The Fryer”. The money raised supports the music program in our schools. Steve loved all kinds of music. He would say it brings people together. I couldn’t agree more!
All 3 of our children have participated in the music program in some way. Scott was taught to Tango by Allyson Smith Patterson. Sam played the trombone with Allyson and violin with Heather Donnell. Abigail started with violin with Heather, then flute with Allyson and stayed with band until she graduated playing flute, piccolo, being Drum Major, performing in District Band and going to Europe with AMA thanks to Ed Otto, his wife Mary Ann Otto, and Judy Houdeshel.
Please donate to our school’s music fund in Steve’s memory. Make checks payable to DHSMPA, write “In Memory of Steve Pincus” in the memo and send to:
