Performance Field Trip - Philadelphia Wind Band Festival at WCU

For this event students will participate in a number of workshops and master classes with guest conductors, listen to performances, and will give a performance of their own followed by a post-performance clinic.

Bus transportation will be provided for this performance trip.

Student cost is FREE other than lunch! (participation and transportation costs have been covered by DHSMPA and DASD)

However WCU in on Spring Break during this event, so unfortunately that complicates my original lunch plan a bit as all on campus dining locations are closed. Instead I am going to order pizza to be delivered to us for lunch. I'll just be asking for some money from everyone for lunch (exact cost TBA, but likely approx.. $5), or students can opt to pack a lunch for that day instead.

Tentative Rough Schedule for the day

Dress - TBA

9:30- Depart East for WCU (students expected to attend their Pd1 and Pd2 classes

10:15 - AM Workshops

11:30 - Lunch

12:45 - PM Workshops

3:15 - Our Concert Performance

4pm - Post Concert Clinic

5:30- Depart WCU

6pm - Return to East

All performances that day are free and open to the public! We hope some of you will be able to attend.

I'll also be looking for a few chaperones that day - please contact me if you are interested!

Look for an official trip permission slip to come home for that day soon, but the expectation is that all Symphonic Band members participate in this event since 1 - we are a one person per part ensemble, and 2 - there is no cost involved and transportation is being provided.
